Suited
This weekend I’m traveling with some friends to Boston for Ann Hansgate’s wedding. In full realization that I’ve probably put on a little weight since interview season, I thought it was probably a good idea to try on my suit a few days ago, as it had been a bit snug already in the fall. That was one of the best ideas that I’ve had in a while (okay, it was Christine’s idea, really). No way I was wearing that. So … trip to Men’s Wearhouse!
I brought Christine with me for this trip, as suit buying (and shopping in general) is a drawn-out, painful experience for me. I enter the store and immediately get help from a clerk, as is typical from these places. I describe what I’m looking for, get measured, and the guy grabs me a few suits that should work. Amazingly, one of them fit me perfectly and was only a little bit more money that I was hoping to spend. I try on the pants, and they magically fit, too!
So I’m now the proud owner of a nice, black, pinstriped suit. Blam. And what is the best part of this? I was in and out of the store in less than 15 minutes. Pretty amazing?
Speaking of the wedding, I’m leaving tomorrow morning to fly to Boston and will return Sunday afternoon. I’m flying with Dan, Chongai, Janice, and Masano. Anders should be meeting us out there, too. I’m looking forward to seeing Ann and having a good weekend. And now I’ll for sure look spiffy as I’m ushering those people down the isle.
